BIG SECOND HALF KEYS NEILLSVILLE WIN

The Neillsville Warrior girls basketball team used a 31-9 second half scoring advantage to down Spencer last night 49-35. For the first time all year the Neillsville (13-0, 9-0) found themselves trailing after one quarter 13-12 and at the half 26-18 to Spencer (9-3, 6-3). Neillsville came out in a man-to-man defense in the 3rd quarter and shot better from the field as they outscored the Rockets 12-2 to take a two point lead into the final quarter. Neillsville used a 19-7 advantage in the final frame to pull away with the win 49-35. Freshman Jenny Lindner scored 21 of her game high 23 points in the second half, Caitlynne Naughton also scored in double figures with 10 points. Kyleigh Hebert and Krystal Weier led Spencer with 9 points each. Neillsville will host Greenwood Friday at the Fieldhouse.
