NEILLSVILLE BOYS WIN 3RD IN A ROW

The Neillsville Warrior boys basketball team used a big second half to win their 3rd in a row downing Spencer last night 45-40. Trailing 17-8 at halftime, Neillsville (5-6, 5-4) caught fire from the outside in the 3rd quarter and outscored Spencer (3-7, 3-6) 23-6 in the 3rd quarter to take an 8 point lead into the 4th quarter where they made some key free throws down the stretch to hang on for the win. The Warriors were led by Danny Opelt who had 14 points, 12 in the second half, Tyler Ehlen had 13 points and Matt Dux added 11. Steven Gilboy of Spencer led all scorers with 21 points. Neillsville will host the #1 team in Division 4, Blair-Taylor, Saturday at the Fieldhouse in Neillsville at 3 pm.
