RESOLUTION WOULD MOVE $120K TO COMP. PLANNING ACCOUNT

The Clark County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday night.

One agenda item has already caught the attention of some opponents of comprehensive planning.

A resolution would move $120,000 from the undesignated general fund to the comprehensive planning fund to do away with a debt that’s been on the books since 2005.

Where did that debt come from? Finance Director Terri Domaszek says it appears the money was budgeted as revenue, probably from the state, but it never arrived. The result has been a negative fund balance that the county’s auditor has encouraged them to clean up.

Domaszek says this resolution will do that.

She also says she’s looked back on the books and found no evidence that the planning process cost more than budgeted, just that they received less revenue than expected.
