DOC'S DINER SOLD

A Neillsville couple is optimistic that things will turn around downtown.

In less than a year, Dan and Denise Clough have purchased two neighboring buildings in the 400 block of Hewett Street. In Spring they purchased the Walk Brothers building, which they currently operate as a resale store.

Then last month, the Clough’s took the plunge purchasing the structure that used to be Russell’s Hardware, but more recently was operated as Doc’s Diner.

Denise tells us they plan to find someone to lease the building, which includes a fully furnished kitchen, and reopen it as a restaurant. Doc’s has been closed since June of 2009.

Clough says the downtown has “a lot of potential.” They’ve already received several inquiries about the restaurant, but nothing is set in stone.
