CAR AND TRUCK DEALERS END 2010 ON HIGH NOTE

Car and truck dealers were expected to end 2010 on a high note, especially last week.
And Wisconsin dealers are upbeat about that trend continuing into 2011. The
business-tracker website, Edmunds.com, says total U.S. sales of automobiles for 2010 will come to 11.5 million, which is 11-percent more than 2009. Edmunds also projects that in 2011, nearly 13-million vehicles will be sold. Despite more “green cars” coming
into the market, SUVs and trucks have largely spurred 2010's rebound. Bill Sepic,
president of the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association, says Wisconsin
sales staff saw many of those vehicles drive off the dealer’s lot, but says it’s up to gas
prices to determine if that trend continues into the new year.
