Utility officials say a fast-moving thunderstorm packing some hurricane-force winds temporarily knocked out power to an estimated 105-thousand homes across southeastern Wisconsin, the Fox Valley and Upper Michigan.

Barns, silos, sheds and garages are reported down throughout Outagamie County.

A tornado touched down outside of La Crosse.

The Walworth County Sheriff's Department says a motorcylist was taken to a hospital after hitting a tree that was toppled on a roadway near Whitewater as the storms passed through. There's no immediate word on the extent of injuries.

We Energies spokeswoman Wendy Parks says the storms left 105-thousand customers without electricity. She calls it the second biggest outage in the Milwaukee-based utility's history. She says the wind, rain and branches falling on lines caused the outages. Crews are working to restore power ... but repairs could take several days.
