Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $284,211 project to rehabilitate pavements at the Neillsville Municipal Airport. The Governor’s action releases $7,106 in state funds to reconstruct the aircraft parking apron, auto parking lot and entrance road. The city of Neillsville is contributing another $7,106, and the Federal Aviation Administration is providing the remaining $270,000.

According to Michael Gabor, engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will reconstruct 36-year-old pavements that are in very poor shape.

The project is scheduled to begin with design engineering this winter in anticipation of construction to begin in summer or fall of 2011.
