Tuesday, December 21st, 2010 -- 11:53 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
Gas prices are a good .40-cents higher than they were last year at this time, but AAA Wisconsin says people are still planning to travel for the holidays.
AAA Wisconsin says the average trip to share a Christmas meal, exchange gifts and otherwise celebrate the holidays will involve an average 1,052-mile trip at a cost of $694 — about 3.5% more money than people spent at this time in 2009.
Wisconsingasprices.com reports the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded is about $3.00 today. Prices in Neillsville are right around $3.05.
Prices last Christmas were in the mid-$2.57 range.
