FORMER F.D. TREASURER SENTENCED

The former treasurer of the Abbotsford Fire Department will spend 300 days in jail for stealing about $45,000 from the organization.
Robert Standeven, now of Chippewa Falls, was serving as the treasurer of that group when he forged a number of checks, putting the money in his personal account.
The group’s new secretary/treasurer became suspicious when she discovered several checks missing from the department's register.
On top of the jail sentence, Standevan will have to payback an additional $10,000 for the department’s expenses and spend six years on probation.
