FORMER HEAD OF LA CROSSE DIOCESE TO RETURN

New Cardinal Raymond Burke will lead a Mass of Celebration at 3 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph the Workman.
A reception will come after the Mass, though details have not yet been worked out.
The former La Crosse bishop, a Stratford-native, was among 24 cardinals created Saturday by Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Burke also served as archbishop in St. Louis and now leads the Vatican’s supreme court.
