O-F PREPARES TO PART WITH LOGO, MASCOT

It appears Osseo-Fairchild’s logo and nickname will be retired after a judge dismissed their appeal.
Earlier this year, the state ruled the Chieftains name and logo had to be replaced because it promotes discrimination. The school district appealed, but missed a key deadline in the process.
Now the only way to appeal would be for residents to go to court on their own in a separate case.
If that doesn’t happen, the district will have to scrap the logo and mascot by July or face fines.
