OMG! HUNTERS CAN TEXT TIPS
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 -- 8:58 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
This hunting season, hunters can report violations by sending text messages to the state Department of Natural Resources hotline.
Wisconsin and 26 other states are participating in a national program to encourage people to report potential violations.
Here’s how you do it: Type TIPWDNR, then add a space and type in the tip. Send it to 847411.
The Wisconsin DNR will monitor texted tips from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Tips texted between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. will not be viewed until the next day.
More pressing violations can be called to 800-TIP-WDNR (800-847-9367), which is monitored 24 hours per day.
