STEVENS POINT AND GILMAN HEADED TO STATE

The Gilman Pirates and the Stevens Point Panthers join Colby and Edgar as area teams participating in the WIAA State Football Championships at Camp Randall in Madison this Thursday and Friday. Gilman downed Randolph last night 34-26 to advance to the Division 7 Championship game, while Stevens Point beat defending Division 1 Champion Marquette yesterday 21-3 to advance to the Division 1 Title game. Here are the matchups for Thursday and Friday:

Thursday, Nov. 18
Division 7 - Gilman (12-1) vs. Catholic Central (12-1) - 10 a.m.
Division 6 - Edgar (13-0) vs. St. Mary's Springs (12-1) - 1 p.m.
Division 5 - Colby (13-0) vs. Brillion (13-0) - 4 p.m.
Division 4 - Kewaunee (13-0) vs. Brodhead/Juda (11-2) - 7 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 19
Division 3 - West De Pere (13-0) vs. Catholic Memorial (11-2) - 10 a.m.
Division 2 - Cedarburg (12-1) vs. Waunakee (13-0) - 1 p.m.
