LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE OFFERED
Monday, October 4th, 2010 -- 10:47 am
Posted by Larry Hoeser, Sports Director

The Neillsville Recreation Department is preparing to offer a Lifeguard Training class at the Neillsville Pool. Eligible students need to be at least 15 years of age and have adequate swimming skills. Individuals are asked in the pre-test to swim 500 yards utilizing two different strokes and retrieve a brick from the deep end of the pool. The exact day and time of the class will be determined when the class roster is set. It is hopeful to have the majority of the instruction in mid-October and early November, so it does not conflict with highschool sports. Individuals who pass the class will have a very good chance of being hired at the Nsv. Pool as a lifeguard or youth swim lesson instructor as at the moment, their is a definite shortage of guards. Fee for the class will be approximately $50 which will cover the cost of the text book and certification cards, all other costs will be absorbed by the Rec. Dept. For more information and to pre-register, (deadline of October 12th) call 715-743-2400. Please note there will probably not be another class offered until 2012.
