MARSHFIELD DOOR LAYS OFF 80

The recession has claimed 80 more area jobs.
Marshfield DoorSystems Inc. announced yesterday it will lay off 80 recalled workers today.
MDS employs more than 500 people.
Some of these workers were recalled last month to help meet an immediate rush in orders. They were told it would be temporary. The other 50 workers were also recalled over the course of the year.
These 80 cuts are in addition to about 70 cuts last September.
According to a statement the company released over the summer, they plan to build an out of state facility, but will maintain the Marshfield location and headquarters.
Company officials say the layoffs are the result of a down economy.
