ATTEMPTED MURDER IN HIXTON

A Jackson County man faces attempted murder charges for hitting another man in the head with a sledgehammer.
30-year-old Brandon Chandler from Ettrick is charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery after allegedly hitting Alexander Hanson in the head with a sledgehammer early Sunday morning.
The assault allegedly happened in Hixton.
Investigators believe the altercation started when another man broke a window in the home Chandler was in. I fight ensued and Hanson tried to break it up. Chandler fought with Hanson, eventually hitting him in the head with the sledgehammer. Hanson was later airlifted to a hospital for what doctor’s say is a skull fracture.
Chandler is in jail Tuesday night on a $50,000 bond.
