With hunting season coming up, many people will be out in the woods. That's why doctors are reminding you to protect yourself from Lyme Disease. Lyme Disease is spread through the bite of a deer tick and common symptoms include joint pain, achiness and a fever. Dr. Herbert Macalalad, with Marshfield Clinic says they usually recommend that people wear long-sleeves and pants, the pants leg should be tucked in into boots. He says it's also important to wear light-colored clothing so you can see ticks, and to wear insect repellent. If you have been bit and show the signs of Lyme Disease to call your doctor. It's usually treated with antibiotics.
