Clark County is at the heart of America’s Dairyland, and our dairy heritage is front and center at the Fair.
The Clark County Dairy Promotions Committee is always busy this time of year.
"The 4H clubs submit sock cows, we judge those. We do the Little Britches show, that's going to be Saturday at noon, a lot of people come out to see that," explains Matt Bendixen with the group.
Other committee-sponsored events include 4H Food Stand promotions and a chocolate baking contest.
The committee’s role isn’t limited to the county fair. Bendixen says they’re very active throughout the year.
"They're going to have a Fall Festival in Greenwood, we'll be there for that. When the Red Cross has their Bloodmobile drives, we're there with cheese trays," Bendixen says. "It's a long time to think about it, but when Santa comes out, you'll see us in December having our booth out and supporting dairy products there a well."
The committee’s work is sponsored by area businesses, individuals and dairy farms.
