Monday, January 3rd, 2005 -- 12:24 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

There will be at least 1 contested race in the City of Neillsville this April. Tuesday is the filing deadline for the spring elections and 4 of 5 city council positions are up for reelection.

As of Monday morning, Dale Berger – who was appointed 4th Ward alderman after Brian Anding moved out of the district in the fall – and ward resident Jim Ratsch have handed in their nomination papers and will square-off in April.

Elsewhere, incumbents Chuck Glassbrenner, Steve Mabie and Darren Horn have handed in their papers for the 1st, 2nd and 5th wards, respectively. At this point, they have no opposition.

Again, the filing deadline is tomorrow afternoon.
