ROAD WORK BEGINS IN WOOD CO.

A big road construction project starts today in Wood County.
Crews will begin work on a $16.6 million contract to improve US 10 between Wood County BB and Stadt Road, and WIS 13 between US 10 and 29th Street, in the Marshfield area.
Crews will realign US 10 south of the existing highway. The new section of US 10 will be a four-lane, divided highway with an interchange at the intersection of new US 10 and Wood County A. Crews will also expand WIS 13 to four-lanes between US 10 and 29th Street.
No traffic impacts on US 10 or WIS 13 are scheduled until next year.
WIS 13 construction is scheduled for completion in fall 2011. The new US 10 alignment is scheduled to open to traffic in 2012.
The project will be paid with a combination of federal and state transportation funds.
