CALLAHAN IS LA CROSSE'S NEW BISHOP

Area Catholics have a new Bishop.
Pope Benedict XVI appointed William Patrick Callahan, Auxiliary Bishop of Milwaukee, as the Tenth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of La Crosse.
Bishop Callahan was ordained to the priesthood in 1977. He was named an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in October of 2007.
He studied at Loyola University in Chicago, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Communications. He earned his master's of divinity degree from St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto.
