LOYAL SCHOOL REFERENDUM SLATED FOR NOVEMBER
Friday, May 21st, 2010 -- 11:52 am
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

Voters in the Loyal School District will vote in November, not September, on a revenue cap exemption referendum.

Earlier this month, the board decided to change the date of the referendum from the Fall Primary date on September 19th, to the General Election date of November 2.

The board is still mulling its options, but their financial adviser says the district faces a $500,000 shortfall next year, a $600,000 deficit in 2011-12 and a $722,000 deficit the year after that.

Last April, voters turned back a three-year, $500,000 per year revenue cap exemption.
