Shortly after the crash, the vehicles became engulfed in flames. The two occupants of the westbound vehicle were able to escape. Citizens were able to pull the driver out of the other vehicle. He was airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

The passenger in that vehicle, 59-year old Katherine Theys of Marshfield, was pronounced dead at the scene, becoming Clark County’s 2nd traffic fatality of 2005. The driver, 59-year old Abraham Theys, is listed in serious condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
