FORMER NEILLSVILLE WOMAN KILLED IN HIT AND RUN

A Portage woman, originally from Neillsville, was the victim of an apparent hit-and-run accident Thursday night.
Two vehicles apparently struck 47-year-old Shari Sampson on Highway 16 near Wolfram Road near Portage. Sampson had left Sidetracked Bar before 10 p.m. that night. Authorities say she was struck by two vehicles in a short period of time. They say she was wearing dark clothing and was walking on a very dark stretch of road.
The second impact was witnessed by a person who called 911.
Shari Sampson, formerly Bischoff, graduated from Neillsville High School in 1981.
