AUGUSTA FIREFIGHTER ALLEGEDLY PLANNED ARSON FOR MONEY

A firefighter in Augusta allegedly went to extremes to earn his $8 an hour paycheck for fighting fires.
According to the Leader-Telegram, Joseph Thalacker, 29, enlisted the help of a teenager to start several fires in the area.
Thalacker now faces four felonies. His alleged accomplice was also charged with two counts of arson.
The fire chief there says the allegations are "unthinkable".
