TREE FIRE (?) IN NEILLSVILLE

The Neillsville Fire Department was called to the scene of a tree fire Monday afternoon.
According to Fire Chief Matt Meyer, the crew was dispatched to the location near the intersection of 6th and State streets.
A hollow tree had caught fire, we’re assuming because of a lightning strike.
The crew extinguished the fire and cut down the tree.
