Damien Luchterhand of Neillsville, was undefeated when he sprained an ankle but still finished 6th at the National Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament in Cedar Falls, Iowa this past weekend, which was good enough for All-American status. Damien was actually ahead in his match when the injury occured and he couldn't go on. The top 8 in each weight class are All-Americans. Also competing from Neillsville were Phillip Opelt who finished 3-2, Mike Chadwick 2-2, Kyle Wilson 0-2 and Tyler Hartung 0-2. Luchterhand, Opelt, Chadwick and Hartung wrestled in the Cadet Division while Wilson wrestled in the Junior Division.
