An inmate at the Jackson Correctional Institution is charged after he allegedly offered to pay another inmate to kill his ex-wife and her family.

Authorities say 52-year-old Ronnie Thums offered to pay another inmate $10,000 to kill Thums' ex-wife, her current husband and any children in the home.

Thums, formerly of Oshkosh, is currently serving a five-year prison term at the Black River Falls facility for stalking an ex-girlfriend.

Thums is scheduled to appear in Jackson County Court March 23 to face charges of solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide, and two counts of solicitation of burglary. If convicted, he could face another 24 years in prison.
