ICE SWEEP NETS 49 ARRESTS IN AREA

Some breaking news this morning involving illegal immigrants in Clark, and surrounding counties. Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen just announced there was another criminal illegal alien arrest operation in partnership with the federal government.
The recently concluded operation resulted in 49 arrests; many in our area.
According to a DOJ press release, illegal immigrants were arrested in Medford, Stratford, Altoona, Dorchester, Edgar, Wittenberg, Spencer, Loyal, Merrill, Antigo, Plover, Mosinee, Abbostford and Marathon City.
Those taken into custody had criminal histories including sexual assault, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine, multiple OWI’s, possession of meth, felony fraud and unlawful re-entry to the United States.
They are from Mexico, China, Germany, South Africa, Macedonia, Romania, and Yugoslavia.
