STANLEY RESIDENTS NOT TOLD OF ESCAPE

As if the ease with which two inmates were able to walk away from a prison in Stanley weren’t enough, residents there say they’re shocked they weren’t notified of the breach.
As we reported yesterday, two inmates simply walked out of the medium-security prison using fake prison release records. It happened last month, but residents are just learning about it now.
Both inmates were later taken into custody in the Madison and Milwaukee areas.
The Department of Corrections isn’t commenting. The say the incident is under investigation.
This incident isn’t the first for the facility. You may remember a private company constructed the prison without a government contract. The state eventually purchased it.
There have been security concerns from the start, and a report released last year said the prison's security system, exterior doors and cameras were in bad shape.
No word on who the inmates were, or what they were in prison for.
