BON IVER SINGER LOOKING TO GIVE BACK

The singer of Bon Iver and his brother want to turn a vacant downtown Eau Claire building into a small concert venue and recording and video studio.
Eau Claire's Redevelopment Authority decided this week to move forward with Justin and Nate Vernon's plan to buy and renovate the 103-year-old city-owned building.
Justin Vernon is an Eau Claire native and lead singer and songwriter of the critically acclaimed band.
The brothers Vernon have to prove they can afford the project.
Bon Iver LLC generated more than $1.2 million in 2008, according to available financial data.
