VETTERKIND SENTENCED
Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 -- 3:10 pm
Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

A Thorp man who allegedly broke into a home in the middle of the night, beat up the occupant before being shot in the leg was sentenced to an additional 63 days in jail Tuesday.

Authorities say 27-year-old Cole Vetterkind was wearing make-up resembling The Joker from a recent Batman movie during the assault last January.

Under the plea agreement, the charges were amended and Vetterkind pleaded no contest to 4 misdemeanors as a repeat offender.

Vetterkind had already served 191 in jail.

Visiting judge Thomas Flugaur also sentenced him to two years in prison, but stayed the sentence; that means Vetterkind will serve the time if he violates conditions of his probation.
