CVTC TAX RATE TO DROP

If you live in the Chippewa Valley Technical College District, the rate for the technical college portion of your tax bill will decline again. Since 2000, enrollment has increased 34-percent, but CVTC has been able to reduce the tax rate every year. In 2000, CVTC taxed each $1,000 of property at $1.45, the 2004-2005 budget calls for a $1.24 tax rate. Recent statistics indicate CVTC retained its status as having the lowest cost-per-student ranking among the state’s 16 technical colleges. The college has proposed a tax levy of $29-million.
