The Neillsville Warrior girls basketball team lost their first game of the year last night, falling to Independence in the Black River Falls Holiday Tournament 28-26. The game was close throughout the first half with Neillsville leading by 6 at halftime. But the Indees (4-1) came back in the second half and outscored Neillsville 21 - 13 to get the win. Neillsville was led by Alyssa Anding with 8 points and Tia Opelt with 7. Leading scorer Caitlyn Courtney was held to 5 points and Angela Meshnick had no points. Neillsville (5-1) will be back in action at Marshfield Columbus next Thursday, 1/7.
