CHAIR LIFT FAILS; 3 SERIOUSLY INJURED

14 people were injured--3 seriously-- as a chairlift at a southcentral Wisconsin ski resort broke Thursday night.
The accident happened at the Devil's Head ski resort near Merrimac.
The chair lift was full of people when it malfunctioned and sent riders backward. Lift operators could nothing to stop it as the chairs smashed into a back wall.
Many jumped before the chairs hit, some falling more than 20-feet.
