COMMITTEE LOOKS AT BUILDINGS

The Clark County Law Enforcement Committee is exploring a couple existing buildings to house evidence.

Last month, the Clark County Board of Supervisors slashed a $700,000 earmark for a new evidence storage facility, moving $600,000 to the Highway Department, leaving the Sheriff’s department with only $100,000.

Tuesday, the committee toured a couple possible options. The former Midwest Trailer Sales building, located just off of Highway 10, near the Highground, and the old Clark County Towing and Recovery building, in Christie. The asking prices are $190,000 and $150,000, respectively.

Officials are currently putting together a list of pros and cons for the two locations and no decisions have been made.
