THE NEILLSVILLE GRINCH?

This next story has some Grinch-like qualities.
Every year, a group of Neillsville-area residents get together to decorate the downtown. Among other things, they install mini-Christmas trees in decorative pots along Hewett Street.
This year, soon after they were installed, three of the trees went missing.
It happened last week.
A day after the thefts were reported, a Neillsville police officer responding to another matter, noticed two of the three trees sitting in the hallway of a downtown apartment building. No word on where the other tree ended up.
