E.C. COUNTY HUNTER SAVED FROM CHILLY NIGHT

An Eau Claire County hunter nearly spent Sunday night in the Clark County Forest.
According to dispatch logs, The Eau Claire Police Department contacted the Clark County Sheriff’s Department at around 10 p.m. Sunday after a woman reported her husband hadn’t come home from hunting.
Deputies searched several possible locations in the western part of the county. Finally, at around 2 a.m., they came across the man’s vehicle just west of Rock Dam.
After searching the woods, they eventually heard a man’s voice and started a search party.
They found the man after 3 a.m. He was OK and told searchers he became lost after shooting a deer at dusk. After trying to find his way out of the woods for several hours, he decided to wait out the night.
