HIGH-SPEED RAIL COMING TO OUR AREA?

A high-speed passenger rail system could be coming to the Chippewa Valley in the next decade.
According to a report from WQOW-TV in Eau Claire, the Wisconsin DOT wants to connect Milwaukee to Minneapolis. One possible route would have the train coming through Eau Claire.
The proposed route is referred to as the “Badger State Corridor” Connections 2030 maps.
The schedule for this project is for high-speed rail to be implemented between 2014 and 2019. A “Chippewa Valley Corridor” has the same timeframe.
