HOME BUILDERS MAY CLOSE FOR WINTER

More layoffs appear imminent at a major Marshfield employer.
Beginning Nov. 19, Wick Building Systems will close, with plans to reopen in the spring.
The home-builder had already downsized to one shift of 107 workers.
Company officials say the housing market has been brutal, and it looks like it will remain so for a while.
Wisconsin Homes may also elect to shut down for the winter. That could lead to the layoff of 65 workers would be laid off.
