The City of Loyal is getting a $235,000 grant from the state.

State Senator Pat Kreitlow (D-Chippewa Falls) and State Representative Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) announced Monday that Loyal has been awarded the funding to help defray the costs of a needed upgrade to its water systems.

The project includes the replacement of three city wells, one of which is over 100 years old. In addition to the well replacement, the project also includes plans to connect dead-end water mains, increasing the system’s reliability, and construction of a treatment facility to help maintain the quality of the city’s water supply.

Total project cost is expected to total $1,154,800.
