MORE PATROLS IN NEILLSVILLE

Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director

You might see more police on the streets of Neillsville for the next several months.

The Neillsville Police Department is participating in the Click-it-or-Ticket campaign.

Police Chief Brad Lindner says the Department of Transportation program reimburses participating agencies for the wages and benefits of extra patrols to enforce Wisconsin’s mandatory seat belt law.

Neillsville can use up to $13,000 from the program; that’s enough to cover around 4 extra patrols per month.

So far, there have been three extra details. Officers have handed out seventeen $10 citations for failure to wear a seat belt.
