A 31-year-old Neillsville man is in jail after he allegedly brought a weapon to work last week.

According to police reports, Angel Serenity showed the handgun to a co-worker at Figi’s, who told her supervisors and then drove to the Police Department.

When authorities arrived, they found the gun in the man’s coat and 5 .40-caliber cartridges in his pants pocket.

While the co-worker said Serenity made remarks that he intended to get fired that day, he claims he just had the weapon in his coat because he didn’t want it stolen from his vehicle.

Serenity is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. He’s being held on a $1,000 cash bond.

An initial appearance is set for next Tuesday.
