CREDIT CARD FRAUD TRACED TO FABRIC STORE

Anyone that may have shopped at Hancock Fabrics in Marshfield or St. Point in late August or September is urged to contact their credit card company.

It appears the credit card information of customers at the stores may have been compromised.

The Marshfield Police Department is investigating numerous complaints from area residents who have noticed unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts. Someone is apparently using the information to make withdrawals from automated teller machines in the Milwaukee area.

The Marshfield NewsHerald reports all the cards were used at Hancock Fabrics in Marshfield and Stevens Point during late August or early September.

It appears those who used cards along with PIN numbers could be especially at risk.
