NEILLSVILLE 6-1 AFTER OVERTIME WIN

The Neillsville Warrior football team improved to 6-1 on the season after a thrilling overtime win over Spencer/Columbus on Friday night. Spencer/Columbus tied the game at 14 with 1:38 left in regulation on a 68 scoring strike from Paul Selz to Jared Boyle. Spencer/Columbus had the ball first in the overtime, but Neillsville's defense held them on 4 plays. On Neillsville's overtime possession they were faced with a fourth and 21 and Cain Trunkel found Ryan Naughton at the 15 yard line for a first down and two plays later, Deslyn O'Connell scored from 12 yards out to give Neillsville win and "The Sword". Neillsville will face a very tough opponent this Friday as they travel to Colby to take on the unbeaten Hornets. Game time is 7 pm and it can be heard live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
