FATAL ACCIDENT AT UNCONTROLLED INTERSECTION

A two-vehicle crash near Thorp has claimed the life of one person.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department says the accident happened Thursday at around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection Bruce Mound Avenue and Hixwood Road, in the Township of Withee, just southeast of Thorp.
An eastbound truck collided with a northbound truck at the uncontrolled intersection.
The vehicles then entered the north ditch. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was ejected from the vehicle.
Both drivers were flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. The names are being withheld pending notification of family.
This is the third fatality of 2009.
