Lt. Col. Tim Donovan, spokesperson for the Wisconsin National Guard, told WCCN/WPKG News this (Tuesday) morning that that Todd Olson, 36, had only been in Iraq for a few days before he was killed during a foot patrol in Samarra, Iraq.

"We don't have a lot of that detail - we're trying to get it," Donovan explained, "This happened within a day or so after the Wisconsin National Guard Batallion took over the operation from the unit it was relieving."

Olson is the second member of the Wisconsin National Guard killed since Operation Iraqi Freedom began; the other was Michelle Witmer, 20, of New Berlin, who was killed in an Ambush on April 9th, 2004.
