ALMA CENTER MULLS POLICE DEPT.
Monday, August 3rd, 2009 -- 1:50 pm Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
The Jackson Co. Village of Alma Center could be without a police department.
The village is looking at eliminating the force to save money.
Alma Center has a population of about 450 and has had a stand alone police department for five years. It’s staffed by 3 part time officers from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
A survey is circulating in the community. The Village Board could take action at its meeting on August 10th.
