CLARK CO. HOME SALES STRONG
Monday, May 23rd, 2005 -- 8:28 am Posted by Riley Hebert-News Director
A new report from the Wisconsin Realtors Association shows strong home sales in the Wisconsin – especially in Clark County. The Central Region of the state – which includes Clark County – saw a robust 10-percent jump in sales in the first quarter of 2005 compared with the first quarter of 2004. While Clark County’s small market-size might lead to slightly skewed information, housing sales here jumped nearly 67-percent. The state experienced only a 3-percent increase overall. The report singles out Clark County as having a notably large jump in the price of property. Prices jumped nearly 31-percent since last year. The average median price for a home is now $85,000 in Clark County, still well below the statewide average of $152,700. The report notes the large increase in sales and price suggests strong demand in Clark County.
