Yesterday, Tyler Obermueller won the Wisconsin State Amateur golf tournament. Today, he plans to turn pro just in time for the Minnesota State Open. The 22-year-old recent University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate from River Falls shot a final-round 77, good enough for a one-stroke victory over Miles McConnell of Fitchburg and Andrew Dekeuster of Franksville at Merrill Hills Country Club. Obermueller finished with a 4-day total of 288, four over par. Jordan Elsen of Kenosha was tied for the lead going into the final round but shot an 80 and wound up fourth.
